The Adecco Group, the world’s leading talent advisory and solutions company, had recently embarked on an organisational transformation that will help it become more resilient, innovative and responsive to stakeholders in a digital age.
The group wanted to communicate its new ‘Future@Work’ strategy and asked for our help in creating an annual report that engaged audiences and brought its vision to life. The report also had to demonstrate Adecco’s unique offerings and showcase its role as a lifelong career partner.
Our team worked closely with the group’s communications and global brand teams in creating an innovative approach for the annual report. Prioritising its ‘people-first’ ethos, we adopted a forward-looking creative direction that balanced technology, digitisation and human elements. This centred around artwork created by the group’s employees, reflecting their vision of the future of work. And this artwork then became the core of the report, capturing the challenges, opportunities and aspirations of a changing work landscape.
We introduced the artwork on the opening pages and used it throughout the report as thought-provoking dividers, with a complete collection hosted at the end of the report and on the group website. This artistic expression brought a unique visual identity to the report, differentiating it from traditional corporate communications.
To deliver on the team’s ambitions for ESG communications, we also conducted research and benchmarking early in the process to ensure the report aligned with international standards, crucial for Adecco’s listing on the Swiss Stock Exchange. We highlighted the company’s sustainability commitments via a series of key pages, including an enhanced ‘at a glance’ section, positioned alongside the refreshed sustainability and strategy frameworks, and an organisational diagram to show accountability in meeting group objectives.
We also revamped the ‘Remuneration at a Glance’ section with a new dashboard, linking the group’s renumeration philosophy to its broader strategic ambitions. With visual aids like charts and tables, these sections improved understanding and accessibility for stakeholders.
Adecco’s annual report successfully demonstrates the strategy behind the business’s ongoing transformation and how sustainability sits at the core of the group. It has seen record engagement by both internal and external stakeholders, who have praised the unique creative identity and the clear articulation of the new strategy in the fast-evolving landscape of work.
The featured artwork strongly links the purpose of the business with the vision for the future and this has been used to further engage different stakeholders, including investors at Adecco’s Capital Markets Day, and employees and clients through an ‘art café’ installation at the group headquarters.
