Black Sun is proud to have won 2 awards at the 2020 Investor Relations Society Best Practice Awards.

The Investor Relations Society Best Practice Awards recognise companies that are leading the way in IR best practice and stakeholder engagement, thus strengthening corporate reputations and promoting trust and integrity in our capital markets. Now in it its 20th year, the self-entry awards are open to all companies that wish to demonstrate their commitment to leading investor communications.

Despite challenging market conditions, and the ongoing global pandemic, Black Sun were shortlisted for 10 awards for 8 high-acheiving clients. The following categories were awarded on the day:

Most effective overall communication of company investment proposition FTSE 250

Winner - Babcock

"The judges felt Babcock had made significant progress in its efforts to reshape the narrative and had articulated the strategy and investment proposition in an open and informative manner."

Best annual report FTSE 100

"In the FTSE100 Best Annual Report category the judges felt there had been a notable improvement the overall standard of shortlisted entries this year. One company stood out for going above and beyond its peers and setting out clearly the factors that are important to the business. It was noted by the judges that Taylor Wimpey had been on a journey in recent years and this year had delivered an outstanding Annual Report. In particular, the judges liked the simple and effective explanation of the investment case, the section on stakeholder reporting, the comparison of progress against strategic goals and the Q&A with the new Chair."

Babcock International were also awarded highly commended by the judges for the FTSE250 category.

"In the FTSE250 category, the judges also highly commended Babcock for articulating a complicated business model and delivering good sections, including those covering risks, governance, diversity and the gender pay gap, and COVID-19. The judges recognised the challenges for this business and look forward to seeing further progress with the annual report in future years."
